Daniil Trifonov is to the piano as Lionel Messi is to football: a virtuoso of exquisite technique, whose talent extends to the field of intelligence. While Messi’s intellect is expressed in a natural eye for the game of football, Trifonov’s is emotional in nature, as if his fingers control the feeling of his audience.
Trifonov’s long-awaited first solo performance in Finland will take place at the Helsinki Music Centre. His soft touch absorbs listeners in a musical drama.
Trifonov, now in his thirties, has exhausted all possible superlatives, and his trophy cabinet is full of awards: a Grammy and Gramophone’s Artist of the Year award sit alongside his other medals and trophies. But unlike Messi, Trifonov’s career is still on the rise.
