Helsinki Fest: Saturday
Erja Lyytinen, Jesse Markin, Pariisin Kevät, Ruusut
Helsinki Festival cannot be organised this summer, but a new multi-artistic event will bring art to the courtyards and streets as well as the internet, radio and television during August. The Helsinki Fest weekend will be celebrated on 21–23 August, and it will be realised in co-operation with partners and freelance artists.
The broadcast on Saturday, 22 August is all about pop music.
Erja Lyytinen is a master at expressing deep emotions on the guitar. That is why she has been chosen as one of the top blues guitarists in the world. And that is why her music is an enjoyable experience even for those who are not huge fans of blues or worshippers of guitar solos.
Having won two Emma awards with his debut album Folk, Jesse Markin combines electro, hip hop and indie and hopes to build an international career.
Led by Arto Tuunela, Pariisin Kevät is one of the great Finnish rock bands of the 2010s. It is known for songs with strong stories and live performances with an ecstatic atmosphere.
The Finnish electropop supergroup Ruusut is currently the most-talked about indie phenomenon. The highly-acclaimed band consists of Ringa Manner, Alpo Nummelin, Samuli Kukkola and Miikka Koivisto.
The concert will be broadcast live on YLE channels and this page.
