Jori Otsa & Mah’ Orkka
Event Introduction
Jori Otsa & Mah’ Orkka is an acoustic quartet established in 2018, whose repertoire consists of the most beautiful and unforgettable folk songs, ballads, romances, hits, and waltzes from the Baltic and Slavic regions. The orchestra has released a trilogy of three albums based on the famous Estonian singer Georg Ots’s recorded songs.
The basic lineup of the orchestra consists of two balalaikas, an accordion, and Jori Otsa’s uniquely authentic and intense vocal interpretation.
In addition to well-known Ots interpretations, Jori Otsa’s repertoire also includes a wide range of other songs from past eras, such as “Väliaikainen”, “Ystävän laulu”, “Laulu on iloni ja työni”, “Pieni kansan laulu”, “Kullan ylistys”, etc.
The band’s released albums, concerts, and gigs have delighted both the public and critics across genres.
