Station dreams
Event Introduction
Station dreams
Yle Areena 15 of August
Every day, hundreds of thousands of people pass through the Central station.
What do they dream about?
Take part in a guided soundwalk through Helsinki Central Station! Station dreams is best experienced on site at the railway station. The walk takes about an hour and the content is available on Yle Areena in three versions, with guidance in Swedish, Finnish and English.
Go to the main entrance towards Kaivokatu and put on your headphones. During the soundwalk you will meet a few of the hundreds of thousands of people who pass through the station every day – people who live there, work there or just pass through the building. Every word spoken in Station Dreams has been said in real life, but the lines are performed by actors.
The work is documentary and the theme is dreams. Take the time to listen to your fellow human’s innermost dreams and highest wishes during your walk through the newly renovated railway station – an Art Deco gem in the heart of the city.
Station Dreams is made as part of the Swedish Yle’s audio drama training for students at the Theatre Academy’s Swedish-language actor training.
Concept, interviews and script are made by Eva-Maria Koskinen and Anna-Sofia Nylund. Jessica Edén has directed the work and the sound design is created by Niko Ingman.
