The Daughters of Music – music composed by women
Event Introduction
A real musical national treasure has recently been discovered in Finland, created by female composers who were overshadowed because of their gender. Professor Susanna Välimäki and Nuppu Koivisto-Kaasik, PhD, published an academic book Sävelten tyttäret in 2023. Singers and pianists of the Arabia kaikuu lied collective will perform works by composers discussed in the book in the courtyard of the Burgher’s House from 18:00 to 19:00 on the Night of the Arts.
If it rains, the concert will be held in the courtyard building of the Burgher’s House.
