Writing Poetry Today – a Discussion with Matti Kangaskoski and Yekta
Poets Matti Kangaskoski (FI) and Yekta (FR) meet and discuss what it’s like to write professionally in modern day Finland and France. Translator and PhD, Susanna Lindberg, will host the event. After the discussion there will be a cocktail event open for all. The event is held in English.

Matti Kangaskoski is a Finnish poet, scholar & performer. Matti has published two books of poetry and a novel, and is currently working on a poetry book that explores the limits of the mind.
As an academic, Matti holds a bilateral PhD from the University of Helsinki and Justus Liebig University Giessen.
He is preparing a monograph on the intermediation between new media and contemporary poetry. Matti is president of Nuoren Voiman Liitto, a Finnish literary-cultural organisation.
Yekta. Born in 1979 in la Vallée aux Loups, near Paris, Yekta is a French poet and musician.
He was first published in 2006 in publications such as Pyro (Editions du Grand Incendie), Avel IX, Bacchanales, Borborygmes, Commune, La Passe, Le Sabord, Sarrazine or Voix d’encre.
Since 2014, he is member of the jury for the poem in prose Prize organised by the Association des amis de Louis Guillaume. He is involved in the French-English Poetry Festival and assumes several tasks in its magazine, La Traductière.
Yekta collaborates in several musical projects linked to poetry. He composed the music for the videopoem STATUE directed par Nicolas Sandanassamy, and is working on a CD which will accompany his next book (Transignum editions).
