Elämä kädessä – Excerpts from a Youth Play

Event Introduction

The performance Elämä kädessä (Life in Hand) features excerpts from a play by Birgit Tapaninen Baltzar, based on young people’s own experiences and writings. The performance highlights the life stories of today’s youth, their search for identity, and the challenges and choices they face in modern society. At the same time, it offers hope, understanding, and faith that everyone’s voice can be heard.

On the Night of the Arts, following the live performance, the evening continues at Kino Engel with a film adaptation of the Life in Hand play, bringing the full performance to the big screen.

Duration of the film: approx. 75 min

The play Elämä kädessä premiered at Theatre Avoimet Ovet in autumn 2020. This Night of the Arts performance entity is organized in gratitude and memory of Birgit Tapaninen Baltzar.
