HIAA X Night of the Arts: Art, Practice & Connection
Event Introduction
An evening for artists to meet, share, and talk about their work.
For the Night of the Arts in Helsinki, Helsinki International Artists’ Association invites its members and the wider artistic community to spend an evening together in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Bring your portfolio, artworks, or other material that represents your practice and take the opportunity to present your work to fellow artists. You can prepare a short 2–5 minute presentation or pitch about your artistic practice, current work, or project.
Practising how to speak about your work is an important part of an artist’s professional development. A clear, concise introduction can help you feel more confident when meeting curators, galleries, collaborators, collectors, institutions, and other artists. This evening offers a low-pressure space to practise, receive informal feedback, and discover how others describe their practices. You will receive feedback from experienced HIAA members, HIAA board and HIAA curator.
After the presentations, we’ll have time for light networking, conversations about creativity, tea, music, and enjoying the work of the artists who join us.
Later in the evening, those who wish can continue together into Helsinki city centre for an informal gallery walk, visiting current exhibitions and experiencing the Night of the Arts together.
