Event Introduction
On the Night of the Arts (Taiteiden yö), Finnish furniture design and ceramics come together at the HT Collection Brand Store.
Markku Karjalainen, chief designer at HT Collection, shares the story of the company, which began in Hollola in 1959. Throughout the evening, you will hear how Finnish homes, seating habits, and furniture manufacturing have evolved over the decades, while learning about timeless furniture design, materials, and local craftsmanship.
Helsinki-based designer Joona Karvonen will also be joining the event. Working with cast ceramics, Karvonen designs functional pottery alongside unique, experimental art pieces. A selection of Karvonen’s ceramic works will be on display at the Brand Store.
