The Artist’s House by Kasper Muttonen is a multi-year art project in which the artist explores what his own artist’s house could be. Through the project, the artist investigates how an artist might also take on the role of an architect, as was often the case throughout history when the professions of artist and architect were not as clearly separated as they are today. The project also explores what kind of logic and needs might shape the forms and functions of a house designed by an artist.
The project unfolds as a series of exhibitions in which different models of the Artist’s House gradually increase in scale. The current exhibition presents The Landscape Painter’s House as part of the urban seascape, on the seaside cliffs beside Venetsia House in Lapinlahti.
The project is supported by a three-year grant from the Finnish Cultural Foundation.

The event is not accessible with a wheelchair.
The event does not have an accessible toilet.
The Night of the Arts program takes place outdoors at Lapinlahti promontory and at Kivipiha. A gravelled, gently sloping road leads to the promontory. The main exhibition site is located on the rocks, which are not accessible. However, among the cobblestones, there are also paths made of stone bricks, which are flatter and make it easier to move around the yard.
The best way to reach the Venetsia building is by walking to the right from the yellow main building toward the shore.
There is one non-accessible restroom on the first floor of the Venetsia building.
