Opening of the Poetry Moon: Runokimara, Poetry Jam
Event Introduction
We welcome you to join the opening of the Poetry Moon festival from 5 pm on the Night of the Arts, 20 August, in the Parvisali hall at the House of Text. The opening programme will feature Runokimara and Helsinki Poetry Connection’s Poetry Jam.
Programme:
5 pm: Runokimara
Runokimara presents poems from 2026. Expect to enjoy readings from eight highly anticipated collections of poems.
7:30 pm: Poetry Jam
Do you have a poem, song, speech or performance on the theme of NIGHT? Applications for the open mic are now open. Please send your application by 3 August to hpc.openmic@gmail.com with a brief description of yourself and the content and length of your performance. Five performers will be selected for performances of 5–10 minutes.
The event will follow the safe space principles, which can be found at helsinkipoetryconnection.fi. Information about accessibility is available on the House of Text website.
