Event Introduction
Audience members will instantly recognise the opening salvo of Bach’s Toccata, just one of about eleven such pieces that will feature in this special concert. Alongside Bach, attendees will be treated to works by composers such as Boëllmann and Widor. Toccatas are often pompous and loud, so the programme will also include a few quieter interludes. After all, the full voice of a thunderous organ is a daunting proposition for any listener – even an organist.
