OAF X Oodi: MegOAFone and Sauna of Hope
Event Introduction
An interactive art installation, MegOAFone, will be built under the canopy of the Central Library Oodi as an instrument of hope. MegOAFone is a large-scale megaphone that takes over urban spaces and gives a voice to those who might otherwise go unheard. Shout poet EJH and the character MC Harakka, a drag rapper, will perform, and there will be an open mic session, offering people an opportunity to make their voices heard. The event is organised in cooperation with Studiotec.
Oodi’s Kuutio will feature the interactive art installation Sauna of Hope by Peruvian artist Natalia Tong-Ochoa. The installation invites visitors to write down their wishes and share their visions on how to make the world a better place. The structure is built from recycled materials and painted with acrylics. It will be open from 5 pm to 8:30 pm on the Night of the Arts, 20 August, and from 8 am to 8 pm on 21 August.
