Event Introduction

Discover your new favorite artist and open up to the new! Ateneum’s new Modern Classics exhibition series highlights interesting artists from the Finnish National Gallery’s collection. The first artist in the series is Elga Sesemann (1922–2007), known for her expressive style. Her works, considered startlingly modernist in their time, have found their way into the hearts of modern audiences and deserve to be seen and integrated into the history of Finnish modern art.
