Event Introduction

The magical atmosphere that Auri creates with its music stems from the collaboration of Johanna Kurkela, Tuomas Holopainen, and Troy Donockley. The band was envisioned as early as 2011, born from the need for a creative outlet free from the expectations of their main bands and audiences.

Auri introduced their debut album to the world in 2018, followed by Auri II – Those We Don’t Speak Of in 2021.

With their third album, Auri will take the stage for the first time in August 2025. At last, the band will share their vision directly with the audience.

Drawing from Celtic folk and cinematic pop but difficult to fit into any specific genre, Auri’s music defies easy explanation. Step into a dreamlike world of adventure at Huvila, where even the mundane can transform into otherworldly wonder.

For their live concerts, Auri will be joined by Kai Hahto, Johanna Iivanainen, and Mikko Iivanainen.

Johanna Kurkela’s unique voice is also central to the music of Eye of Melian, opening the evening with a deep dive into the world of cinematic fantasy music. Eye of Melian released their debut album in the summer of 2022 and now brings their music to the stage for the first time in a unique live experience.

Behind the band is Dutch composer and producer Martijn Westerholt, known from Delain and Within Temptation. Westerholt delves into orchestral fantasy music and found a kindred spirit in American lyricist Robin La Joy, a lifelong fantasy enthusiast. Kurkela’s voice guides listeners through the epic storytelling realms created by Westerholt and La Joy, where the music unfolds like a film soundtrack.

Eye of Melian’s cinematic and symphonic style will delight those who crave grand emotions and enchanting musical landscapes.
