Hector is one of Finland’s most legendary musicians—a singer-songwriter whose songs, including Mandoliinimies, Lumi teki enkelin eteiseen, and Juodaan viinaa, have become deeply embedded in Finnish musical heritage. For six decades, he has shaped Finnish rock, pop, and schlager with his unique style and storytelling.

In 2025, Hector celebrates an impressive 60-year career, and Huvila hosts an exclusive pre-party for his anniversary tour. Hector & His Powerband take the stage for a rare concert featuring a carefully curated selection of songs that showcase the timeless power of his music.

Hector released his debut album Nostalgia in 1972, and his music has resonated with new generations ever since. He is also a renowned lyricist, having penned hits such as Freeman’s Ajetaan tandemilla and Samuli Edelmann’s Peggy. In the 1990s, he joined Pave Maijanen, Pepe Willberg, and Kirka in the groundbreaking Mestarit Areenalla concert tour, an unprecedented phenomenon in Finnish music history. The Mestarit Areenalla live album was the best-selling record in Finland in 1999. Hector’s illustrious career has earned him numerous accolades, including the Pro Finlandia Medal and multiple Emma Awards.

This concert at Helsinki Festival is a tribute to an artist whose songs have transcended generations and remain as relevant as ever. Rarely performing live these days, the maestro will take the Huvila stage to deliver an unforgettable evening of great stories and iconic melodies, played straight from the heart.
