Jalen Ngonda is one of the brightest rising stars in contemporary soul music. Originally from the United States but now based in the UK, this singer-songwriter seamlessly blends the essence of Motown, Philly soul, and modern sensibility in his music. His 2023 debut album, Come Around and Love Me, received critical acclaim and instantly propelled him onto the international stage.

Ngonda’s music echoes the golden age of soul from the 1960s and 1970s, yet he brings a fresh and contemporary touch to it. His voice has been compared to that of Marvin Gaye and David Ruffin, and he has caught the attention of major artists like Snoop Dogg, Jill Scott, and Elton John. Elton John has even predicted that Ngonda will become a major star.

In recent years, Ngonda has toured extensively with sold-out shows across the US, UK, and Europe, and has performed on the legendary Jools Holland TV show as well as at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival.

Ngonda is signed to the renowned Brooklyn-based label Daptone Records, known for its high-quality funk and soul productions. The label has housed legends such as Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and Charles Bradley. Daptone has provided the perfect home for Ngonda, allowing him to showcase his soulful sound and deep, introspective songwriting.

Opening the night is one of Finland’s most promising soul artists, Emilia Sisco & The Northern Lights. Sisco’s voice and songwriting have drawn international attention. Her recent debut album, Introducing Emilia Sisco, has been widely praised by both critics and audiences, and was released by the internationally respected Timmion Records. Prior to her album release, Emilia gained recognition with the single Don’t Believe You Like That. Her music draws inspiration from soul icons such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James, and Billie Holiday while incorporating a modern touch.
