Event Introduction

“Am I?” is the first feature film from celebrated conceptual and AI artist Kevin Abosch. An entirely synthetic film (every frame of the film made using AI), it might be best described as a musical embedded in a documentary wrapped in a sci-fi film. A relentless, dizzyingly fast-paced experience that explores machine consciousness, weaponized AI and trans-humanism, Abosch describes his film: “‘Am I?’ is a look at how we risk losing our humanity as individuals and collectively as a society while under the influence of machines, from the perspective of a machine.”

After the screening, the film will be discussed by Abosch, Marko Ahtisaari, Artistic Director of Helsinki Festival, and Kieran Long, Director of Amos Rex.
