Event Introduction

SAMPO Festival is an international event for visual theatre and puppetry in Helsinki and the surrounding areas. The festival presents various styles across genre boundaries and offers memorable, timely, touching, and hilarious performances for both children and adults. The program also includes discussions, exhibitions, and workshops. In 2026, the festival program will feature performances from across Europe for adults as part of the international Transport project, children’s shows from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and a large-scale family performance from France that pushes the boundaries of visual theatre, along with gems of Finnish puppetry.
