Huvila Venue Info

The Huvila Festival Tent (also known as Huvila) is a spectacular venue in terms of architectural beauty and festival atmosphere. Situated in the heart of Helsinki by a beautiful bay, Huvila has undeniably become the symbol of the Helsinki Festival since it was built in 1995. Huvila is divided into two parts, a restaurant area and a fully covered concert tent with a total audience capacity of 1300–1700.

A series of individual live music concerts take place in Huvila throughout the two and a half weeks festival. The diverse programme focuses on rock, folk, jazz, world and pop music, representing artist from all over the globe.

The line-ups of past years have included acts such as Radiohead, Massive Attack, Patti Smith, Wilco, Courtney Barnett, Jane Birkin, Ane Brun, Lianne La Havas, Jonathan Wilson, Calexico, Fatoumata Diawara, Amadou & Mariam, Bombino, Tinariwen, Hugh Masekela, Goran Bregovic, Gotan Project, Patricia Kaas, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Susanne Sundfor, Giorgio Moroder, Sleep by Max Richter… among many others.
